Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability

We are committed to responsibly sourcing Blue Swimming Crab (BSC) and ensuring traceability throughout our supply chain. Our operations are designed to support small-scale fishers while upholding high standards of environmental and social responsibility. We source raw materials from small-scale fishers operating vessels under 5 GT, with the largest vessels reaching approximately 7 GT. These fishers use traditional crab traps (bubu), a selective and low-impact fishing method that helps reduce bycatch and protect coastal ecosystems. Fishing areas are located close to our mini-plants, ensuring crabs are landed fresh while minimizing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Supplier Approval and Compliance

We work exclusively with approved suppliers, each registered under a unique supplier code. All suppliers must pass a formal approval process and sign a Supplier Sustainability and Quality Agreement, committing to responsible harvesting and handling practices.

All suppliers must comply with the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum crab weight: ≥ 60 grams
  • Minimum carapace width: ≥ 10 cm
  • No berried (egg-bearing) females
  • No use of chemicals or preservatives
  • Fresh and properly handled raw materials

Each delivery of crab meat is accompanied by complete documentation to ensure identification and traceability. Our team regularly conducts supplier and mini-plant audits to ensure ongoing compliance. Each delivery of crab meat is accompanied by complete documentation to ensure identification and traceability. Traceability System

In line with our commitment to transparency and sustainability, we empower consumers to trace the journey of our crabs—from harvest waters to the final export destination. Through our strategic partnership with PT. Sahabat Laut Lestari, we utilize the advanced TraceTales traceability system, a digital platform that ensures every step of the supply chain is recorded and verifiable. This system provides a seamless and trustworthy experience, highlighting the integrity, origin, and handling of our products.

The TraceTales system captures detailed information across all key stages, including:

By integrating TraceTales into our operations, every batch of crab can be traced back to its catch area, mini-plant, and supplier. This enables complete traceability, ensuring transparency, accountability, and confidence for consumers and partners alike.

Industry Collaboration

We are a member of The Asosiasi Pengelolaan Rajungan Indonesia (APRI), which was established to unify and represent the Blue Swimming Crab (BSC) industry in Indonesia. As a key platform for promoting sustainability and best practices, APRI works to ensure that BSC harvesting and handling align with international standards.

APRI’s membership includes fishers, processors, and exporters, representing the entire supply chain. Through active participation in APRI, we collaborate with industry partners to support responsible fisheries management, improve data collection, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Indonesia’s Blue Swimming Crab resources.
